From the 1st May 2024 Companies House will implement more changes (you can read about other recent Companies House changes here).
Changes to Company House Fees
From 1 May 2024, Companies House are increasing their fees across the board for a variety of services. We will notify you in due course of any impact this will have on your fees.
Still to come no date been set yet:
Identity Verification
Existing companies, all directors (or equivalent) and PSCs will have a transition period to verify their identity with Companies House.
Anyone acting on behalf of a company will also need to verify their identity before they can file information with Companies House.
Changes to Accounts
Transitioning towards filing accounts by software only, and changes to small company accounts filing options.
Changes to Limited Partnerships
Limited partnerships will need to file their information through authorised agents, and they’ll need to file more information with Companies House.
When the measures come into force, LPs must:
- provide partners’ names, date of birth and usual residential address
- verify the identity of general partners
- provide a registered office within the UK
- provide a standard industrial classification (SIC) code
- file an annual confirmation statement
- LPs will need to file their information through an authorised agent.
There’ll be new powers to:
- close and restore limited partnerships
- apply sanctions
- protect partners’ information
- operate a statutory compliance process
These measures will need secondary legislation before they’re implemented.
Improving Transparency of Company Ownership
New requirements to provide additional shareholder information, and restrictions on the use of corporate directors.
Investigation, enforcement and data sharing
More effective investigation and enforcement powers for Companies House, and new powers to share data with law enforcement agencies and other government departments.
